Strategy and policy development
ACEVO - www.acevo.org.uk - and FutureBuilders – as part of a team led by Peach Consultancy, we are checking the feasibility for and undertaking the design of a Capacity Index Tool for voluntary sector agencies

Following our "Phase 1" report, we then supported and facilitated a Department of Health funded working party which developed the specification for a national database of advocacy resources. We then assisted with fundraising for the project (see below)
Quaker Housing Trust (QHT)- www.qht.org.uk
Following our work for QHT in its 30th Anniversary capital appeal, we were commissioned to develop and pilot an organisation and governance health check service for Quaker-linked housing schemes. We recommended such a scheme be established, and we undertook checks of Leicester Quaker Housing Association, Cirencester Young Friends Housing Association and Haven Housing in East Grinstead, Sussex. – and have since undertaken a health check for De Gywnedd Women’s Aid, Gatesbield Quaker Housing Association and homeless support agency Routes to Roots

Provision of consultancy advice to the London Borough of Merton's Best Value Review of Support to the Voluntary Sector, providing an analysis of the various types of funding currently in use in Merton, in other boroughs and by other funding bodies and information about the advantages and disadvantages of using formal contracts, grant conditions or service level agreements (SLA's) to secure the desired outputs and outcomes.

Fundraising

We were retained to undertake the feasibility study for raising funds for this fascinating project, designed by Munich based architects and funded by the East of England Development Agency.
· Cricklewood Homeless Concern ( CHC)
We worked with CHC to purchase the site of its building and then supported the Director in fundraising applications for the CHC appeal for £2.3m for site purchase and rebuilding to help the homeless. The appeal has now been completed and CHC is now accommodated in its new building. We have also undertaken work to support general revenue fundraising.
Financial control and Independent Examination
Arthritis Care ; www.arthritiscare.org.uk - We have undertaken a review of and have developed a new set of new financial regulations accessible from their intranet site to all staff

In this role, we reviewed the finance / financial control and reporting issues of EDP in the light of coming challenges in funding drug and alcohol services.

LTF called us in to review overheads and services, in the light of the coming changes to London Borough of Lewisham's changing ownership of council housing, with consequent impact of LTF's income which comes from a rent levy.

This role, part project management and part financial control, drew on our charity accounting and ICT skills to implement a new financial system for the SC UK head office, In the future, this may extend to supporting the provision of a new accounting system for SC UK's field operations.

We provided assistance to review the finance and administration function in Carers UK national office, including recommending a new staff structure, new financial software and supporting production of a new cash flow, chart of accounts and revised end of year accounts.

Information and Communications technology (ICT)

In this role, we are guiding the improvement of local and international connectivity for A2CIN, focusing on technical advice, project matters and strategic fit with the other activities of this international NGO.

Having reviewed the JDRF Information and Communication Technology systems and developed an ICT strategy, we then implemented and supported the system we recommended across the UK using Windows desktops and servers, Lotus Notes and Citrix.
Human Resources development
We have considerable expertise in assisting organisations in managing change through consultation with staff and changing the HR framework. One of our team also has significant experience in recruitment, training and assisting organisations with managing difficult situations in respect of both disciplinary and grievance procedures as well as carrying out detailed compensation and benefit reviews.
